Research interests

The application of molecular methods in the study of bacteria in nature has, during the last decade, lead to the discovery of an enormous number of taxa that previously were unknown. We now know that the composition of bacterioplankton communities in lakes and oceans vary in time and space. However, we know little about which factors influence the biogeography (Who is where? and Why?) of bacterioplankton and which role different bacterial taxa play in lake ecosystem. read more...
